Winchester & Chandler's Ford MP Steve Brine met with constituents today on Old Palace Yard during The Time is Now Mass Lobby.
Constituents came to Parliament to discuss climate change and the environment, calling on the UK to introduce immediate legislation to reach net zero by 2045, the Environment Bill and the International Agenda.
Steve Brine said: “It was a pleasure to meet many of my constituents in Westminster today to discuss climate change and the environment. The UK will be the first G20 country to implement net zero and the independent Committee on Climate Change advised that 2050 would be an achievable target for the UK but that doesn’t rule out achieving it earlier.
"As always, my constituents are generally well informed and come with sensible suggestions and questions as part of a lobby. It was lovely to have them all in Westminster.”
Winchester Action on Climate Change and Christian Aid were also in attendance along with one representative from the Extinction Rebellion Winchester group.
