Steve Brine opened the new Emergency Department at RHCH on Thursday 9th May after securing £4m funding from the Government.
Major work has been carried out at the Romsey Road site over the past few months, and the result is a fantastic new emergency department which is now fully operational.
It includes Rapid Assessment and Treatment bays, and a wonderful children’s area.
Steve Brine said: “I was delighted to open the new Emergency Department, which demonstrates the positive long term future for our NHS. I saw for myself the fantastic impact on staff morale and it has really energised the staff.
“This investment shows great belief in our hospital, and these changes have been made possible thanks to £4million in capital funding from the Department of Health and Social Care. It is great to see the headline figures we talk about, of record NHS investment, translated into tangible reality here on the ground.”
