Steve Brine dropped into meet members of the Winchester business community this evening (Thursday 16 April 2015) as the Winchester Business Improvement District held its AGM.
The event, held in the Woodhouse Suite at Winchester Cathedral Refectory, heard from BiD Executive Director, Chris Turner, and Manager Catherine Turness as they outlined the current state of business in the city.
Steve has been a strong supporter of local businesses through his first term of our local MP, speaking regularly at events and conducting what he called 'business canvassing' in the centre of town.
Speaking at the event he said; "Winchester has a really vibrant and exciting business picture right now and the figures are clear it's growing and confidence is strong. There are a number of key issues needing attention right now, from city centre broadband to power supplies in Jewry Street, and I will of course want to pick up my work with the BiD if I am returned as the MP on 7 May."
Also at the event was Receiver General of the Cathedral (Annabelle Boyes) as well as new City Council leader, Cllr Frank Pearson.
Steve came to the AGM following an afternoon meeting residents on the Weeke estate where he received a warm welcome for his positive local campaign to be re-elected as the MP for Winchester & Chandler's Ford.
