The Golden Lion Pub in Winchester has been relaunched this lunchtime (31 March 2015) as landlords Brid and Derek Phelan showcased their new menus and extension.
The pub, on Alresford Road, is popular with locals and vistors alike and has been hugely successful since the couple took it over in 2008.
Steve Brine took a break from the General Election campaign to drop by and wish them well, as well as to meet a number of the customers enjoying the spread.
He says; "We've met Brid and Derek many times before and have great respect for what they've done with the pub since arriving here 8 years ago. I'm always keen to support local businesses and the new Golden Lion is a great example of a positive outlook and can-do business attitude leading to commercial success.
"I wish them every success with the relaunch which, if the food I tasted today is anything to go by, will not be needed."
