Saturday afternoon proved no let up for local MP Steve Brine in his efforts to support every community affected by the current flooding.
The Winchester MP joined Cllr Stephen Godfrey in Sutton Scotney to meet affected residents and see how the village was coping with flash floods which hit them on Thursday.
He was also shown the drainage improvement works which were undertaken following the major floods of 2000 and the way they had worked to minimise the damage to peoples' homes.
In spite of this however, a handful of residents have had to leave their homes and Steve met one as he was forced to move out for what could be many weeks.
Steve said; "I was pleased to be able to visit Sutton Scotney and see the investment from 2000 working but just devastated for the residents I met who have we've not been able to save from flood water entering their homes. I hope they appreciated the visit and will be back in their houses without too lengthy a delay."
The pair chatted with residents out and about and met with Parish Clerk, Sue Hedges who lives in the village.
Steve Brine has offered to host a round-table in the parish, with Environment Agency and senior council officials to see what further work can be done to minimise even more when the next floods hit Sutton Scotney.
