Steve Brine visited Chandler's Ford on Friday 1st June, and took in the new B&Q HQ, as well as their new eco-house.
Steve met recently with Marketing Director Katherine Paterson to discuss the exciting new Green Deal, and following the meeting was invited down to Chandler's Ford to see for himself what the business has been doing to reduce both their own environmental impacts and those of their customers.
During the visit, Steve found out more about the sustainable nature of the new HQ, which was opened last summer, before taking a trip to Eastleigh to visit their standard semi-detached house, which they use as an example of how emissions can be reduced in a normal house.
Speaking afterwards, Steve said: "It was great to meet with Katherine up in London, and when she invited me to see what B&Q were doing locally I jumped at the chance.
"The new HQ really is something else, and the eco-house, also known as the 22nd century home, is a fantastic example of just what can be done in the average house. I'm really grateful for the time the team took to show me around, and I am sure many of my constituents will be really interested in finding out more about what the team is doing."
