A new shop selling goods for the elderly and disabled was formally opened by local MP Steve Brine on Friday 16th March.
Carver Care, owned by Winchester residents William and Maggie Carver, has been established for eighteen years and is already the market leader across Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
William Carver, Managing Director, said: "The exciting decision to open in our home city of Winchester was based both on the very attractive demographics and also the current lack of local outlets.
"We offer an enormous range of daily living aids plus larger items such as riser recliner chairs, scooters, bath lifts and stairlifts, and we also sell the very popular Cosyfeet extra roomy comfort shoes."
Carver Care in Weeke has just received the Buy with Confidence marque, awarded by Trading Standards, continuing a trend with their other stores.
Maggie Carver, added: "We are delighted to open up here in Winchester. It has taken us years to find a suitable location with, critically, disabled parking available. We have received a tremendous welcome and are very much looking forward to serving the local community."
Winchester MP Steve Brine said: "This is a delightful shop and it was great to see so many people here today for the grand opening. At first glance some people may think it's not necessarily for them, but you never know just when you may need one of the many products this thriving business has to offer.
"I am sure that William and Maggie will be really happy in this fresh, vibrant shopping area, and their business will go from strength to strength."
