Steve Brine joined local publicans and a representative from Winchester BID in Parliament on Tuesday 2nd February, as O'Neills won the local award in the national Best Bar None Awards.
The Winchester MP met Ursula Haller and Adam Major from the popular city centre pub, alongside BID's Business Crime Reduction Officer, Jane Bastock, at the event, which promotes responsible management and operation of alcohol licensed premises.
The purpose of the Best Bar None scheme, which is supported by the Home Office, is to reduce alcohol related crime and disorder, and build positive relationships between licensed trade, police and local authorities.
Speaking after the event, Steve said: "It was great to meet Ursula, Adam and Jane up in the House, and fine recognition for their work together over the past year.
"This is an important scheme, and it was good to see responsible owners from across the country able to share best practice and discuss how operating more responsibly can improve both profits and the attractiveness of the destination and venue, as well as the broader area."
