Winchester Litter Pickers were joined by Steve Brine MP on their regular Monday morning litter pick, commencing their pick from Winchester railway station. A regular core of around a dozen members ensure that the station approach and surrounding car parks are given a weekly tidy up before attention is given to other streets that radiate out from the station, including towards the city centre.
Eddie Woodnutt, chairperson for Winchester Litter Pickers, said “I want to thank Steve for his continued active support and interest in the group's efforts to keep Winchester as litter free as possible.”
The Winchester MP, who was joined by his daughter, added; “It’s always a pleasure to join this upbeat team of volunteers who do some serious work across the city. I know we have already lined up my next pick and I look forward to it later this year.”
In addition to the regular Monday morning activity, Winchester Litter Pickers conduct litter picks every other Wednesday morning at different suburban locations around Winchester and also clean the Cathedral Outer Close on a daily basis from March to October.
