Winchester MP, and former broadcaster, Steve Brine is delighted that Winchester Hospital Radio is celebrating Hospital Radio Week, running from 26th March until 2nd April.
Winchester Hospital Radio (WHR) is a registered charity (No. 290553), and is based at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital (RHCH) in Winchester. They provide a radio service and a daily visit by ward visitors to in-patients at the hospital, and the organisation has been running since 1984.
The WHR team, led by chairman Anna O’Brien, is entirely made up of volunteers, and welcomed Steve recently to hear about his work, as well as allowing the MP to chose his favourite tracks.
Steve said: “I know the WHR team well, and I am very aware of how much comfort their service provides patients at the hospital. Anna and the team are a truly great bunch, and I can’t wait to drop in again soon- hopefully they’ll let me pick some more tunes!”
