Winchester and Chandler's Ford MP Steve Brine visited the Two Hoots Campsite on Saturday 11th June, to join in the opening of three Eco-friendly camping pods.
The pods, the use of which has coined the phrase 'glamping', are insulated with sheep's wool, and have a specially-designed foil that regulate both summer and winter temperatures. Adapted roofing tiles also contain noise reducing material, which cuts down on the noise of heavy rain.
Two Hoots have already been nominated for a Winchester Business Excellence Award for 'Green Innovation', and have been shortlisted in the South Coast Business Awards in the 'Excellence through Innovation' category.
Steve, who joined Cllr Ernie Jeffs at the opening, said: "I know Two Hoots have done a wonderful job on this holiday site, and they have been the subject of lots of interest, not only here in the UK but across Europe.
"I was extremely impressed with what I saw here, real Green innovation, and wish them all the best in the South Coast Business Awards in July."
