Steve Brine has welcomed new that the Department for Work and Pensions have introduced the Small Employer Offer (SEO), a unique package of employment support for both employers and employees, forming a key part of the government's aim to reduce the Disability Employment Gap.
It is a voluntary programme that has been designed to increase local job opportunities for Employment and Support Allowance and Universal Credit claimants who have a Limited Capability for Work, by promoting the employment of disabled people amongst small employers and by encouraging local employers to become Disability Confident.
Steve Brine said: "I know they want to help small local employers to employ disabled people and people with health conditions, so if you're a business with 25 or fewer employees, they can give you extra support through Jobcentre Plus."
