Winchester MP Steve Brine spent a morning visiting Arqiva, a communications infrastructure and media services company, based in the picturesque village of Crawley.
The company, which employs over 2000 people in 80 locations, is at the forefront of network solutions and services in the digital world. Arqiva provides much of the infrastructure behind television, radio, satellite and wireless communications in the UK and has a significant presence in Ireland, mainland Europe and the USA.
Their customers include major broadcasters such as the BBC, ITV, BSkyB and the independent radio groups, major telco providers including the UK's five mobile network operators, and the emergency services.
Speaking after visiting the HQ, Steve said: "It was a real pleasure to visit arqiva's UK headquarters which I am really proud to have here in Winchester.
"They are a big local employer and a fascinating business to boot. Knowing as I now do how much of this country's TV output comes through this site I shall never look at the tranquil village of Crawley in the same way again.
"I look forward to working with the arqiva team, both as their local MP and in Parliament on the wider media and communications agenda."
