Local MP Steve Brine visited Winchester Hospital on Friday lunchtime to meet with the new team since its merger with Basingstoke.
Mr Brine met with Chief Executive Mary Edwards to hear how the new Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust is settling down and discuss future plans.
Also on the agenda was Steve's upcoming campaign to improve the care given to couples suffering miscarriage. More on this will follow in coming weeks.
Speaking after the visit, Steve said: "I have been positive about the merger with Basingstoke because I think it represents the best chance we have to maintain long-term sustainable services at the RHCH.
"It is never easy to bring two organisations together but the ambition I get from Mary and her senior team for providing excellent NHS care across the new Foundation Trust is to be warmly welcomed.
"I enjoyed a very strong and professional relationship with Chris Gordon (and Martin Wakeley before him) and will do the same with Mary to ensure I keep the views of my constituents at the front of her thinking at all times.
"I think the future for services across the Trust can be very positive and I very much welcome the chance to be involved in their development."
Steve meets very regularly with staff and managers at the RHCH; if you have a view or an issue you would like him to raise at a future meeting, please email [email protected].
