Steve Brine and Cllr Fiona Mather dropped into City Road on Thursday 6th October as they visited Fitness In Time, a ladies-only gym.
They were met by Peter Dewbery, who heads up the team, and met a number of staff and customers.
Fitness In Time is a ladies-only gym in the heart of Winchester. They offer their members a friendly, non-intimidating environment to exercise, and their team of friendly female personal trainers write personal training programmes for all members which are reviewed every month. The gym uses state of the art equipment to help their members tone up and slim down and all workouts only take 30-minutes to complete so they are easy to fit in around the busiest of lifestyles. The gym offers a range of low cost memberships and caters for everyone – the youngest member is 16, while the oldest is 87!
Peter Dewbery said: "I was delighted to have the opportunity to show Steve Brine and Cllr Fiona Mather around my business and talk to them about the daily challenges of running a small business in Winchester. My team do a fantastic job here in Winchester and I hope we can inspire more ladies to keep active in the city!"
Steve Brine said: "Peter and the team have done a terrific job to build this business up and it's a really interesting business model they have. The leisure sector is hugely important to our economy, nationally and locally, but also to the public health battle we must win. I am hugely grateful to them for inviting us on and enjoyed our discuss about a range of issues, including business rates, employment issues and Brexit."
Cllr Fiona Mather added: "This is an excellent facility for women of all ages that with its friendly atmosphere provides a good incentive to keep fit!"
