Steve Brine joined guests from across Winchester's business community at the Guildhall on Friday 2nd June for the Winchester Business Excellence Awards.
Sponsored once again by Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, Winchester BID and the Hampshire Chronicle, in association with Simplyhealth Professionals, the awards set out to build local competitiveness and reward business excellence wherever it is found.
The evening heard from Vincent Boni, Managing Director of NewsQuest, and Catherine Turness of Winchester BID, as well as Eloise Appleby from Winchester City Council.
Steve Brine said: "This is one of the highlights of the Winchester year, and it is always a pleasure for me to attend. It is good to support the winners and all those nominated, but also to just chat with local businesspeople about their past year and future plans.
"Obviously, being in the middle of an election campaign, there was understandable focus on the result and what Jeremy Corbyn as Prime Minister would mean for their business."
The overall winner was Richard Steel & Partners, while there were also prizes for Winchester & District Young Carers, Kirton Farm, Forte Kitchen, James Poore Lighting Design, The Little Kitchen Company and CE Evans & Sons.
