Steve met up with Mayor Richard Izard at the Brooks Centre in Winchester to jointly open exciting new green car wash on Monday 31st January.
The eco-friendly business, ecocarcare, set up by Ben Hogbin and his business partner Rafal, provides an incredibly environmentally-friendly service to motorists looking to give their car a little TLC.
Ben, who runs Winchester Young Carers on a full-time basis, said: “We provide a value for money service that doesn’t cost the environment, with employees that genuinely care about their work. ecocarcare can clean any make or model of car without using a drop of water!
“Our hi-tech waterless and eco-friendly solution lifts the dirt from surfaces and is wiped away by micro-fibre towels for a perfect finish. It works by using hi-tech ingredients that include non-toxic cleaning chemicals and polymer protectants. These combine into one super-convenient solution that has been used by car cleaning companies in the USA and Australia for over 10 years.”
Speaking afterwards on his way to an important health debate in the Commons, Steve said: "This is one of those ideas which at first sounds bonkers but it totally works and it makes every sense. Ben and Rafal have really hit on and something here and I just know it will be a roaring success in Winchester. I wish them every luck for the future and judging by the state of my car right now, I will see them very soon."
