Steve Brine spent Saturday 24th January in Alresford as he spoke to dozens of local residents and met a fantastic new business.
He began the day by holding his regular street surgery, now nearly a decade old, on the corner of Broad Street and West Street, speaking to residents navigating the hustle and bustle of town, before meeting the team at Alresford's newest restaurant, Pulpo Negro, on Broad Street.
He then took his team, including local councillors Ernie Jeffs and Lisa Griffiths, to Bighton, where they spent some time knocking on doors chatting to local people.
Steve said: "Local people seem to enjoy the chance to ask their MP about whatever's on their mind. That's exactly what street surgery does, and if you haven't been in to Pulpo Negro yet do take a look. The Tapas looked great and there's some real historical treats to see as uncovered during the renovation work. If you're old enough to remember it being The George you're a record-breaker but remnants remain inside and it was a thrill to see them.
"With my ever faithful Popcorn in tow, it was also great to head into Bighton in the afternoon. It was the final shoot of the season for some so our warm-up drink in the Pheasants was busy and a continuation of the political conversation. I haven't been in for a while but can see why Bighton's revived drinking establishment is being talked up around in the area."
