Winchester MP, Steve Brine, says he and his constituents are "bemused and annoyed" after another weekend of water supply disruption.
On Saturday Southern Water said there was an issue at its' Easton Water Supply Works - with a gas leak on the purification process - which caused the system to shut down. At one point it's thought some 11,000 properties were affected in SO21, SO22 and SO23 postcode areas.
Some experienced water pressure issues, some no supply at all.
Steve says; “My constituents and are I left, once again, bemused and frankly annoyed that there is yet another problem with Southern Water getting supply to their customers.
“It’s been an extremely trying weekend for some and, while safety has to come first which is why things shut down the moment a problem was detected at the Easton water works, we need some fast answers from the company as to what’s happened here and why.
“The issues I am focused on span resilience - and I understand there is huge investment going in which will make this weekend a non event in the future - but also response to vulnerable customers and above all communication with both domestic and education buildings.”
