Steve Brine joined Parliamentary colleagues and assembled guests at a reception held by the All Party Parliamentary Group for Air Ambulances (APPGAA) on 28th November 2016.
The event, hosted by Chairman of the APPGAA Jim Fitzpatrick MP gave members of both Houses of Parliament the opportunity to meet with representatives from air ambulance charities and ambulance services.
The reception heard from Rob Wilson MP, Minister for Social Society, who thanked the APPGAA for all their hard work and highlighted the excellent outcome of the Autumn Statement last week where air ambulances were a major beneficiary in being awarded £10.8 million from the banking fines fund (LIBOR).
Also present were representatives from the Association of Air Ambulances, which has ambitious plans for 2017. They highlighted a number of key projects including input on the Ambulance Radio Programme which will impact all AAA members, as well as other emergency service providers.
Steve Brine said: "I was delighted to be able to drop in, and see familiar faces including Cllr David Drew from Hampshire County Council.
"Our air ambulance crew which covers Hampshire and the Isle of Wight need to raise a staggering £275,000 each month just to keep flying, so I ask my constituents to take a look at what they do for our community."
